How to Improve Your OMPT Score in 30 Days

Thirty days is enough time to meaningfully raise an OMPT-style math score — if the time is spent on the right things in the right order. Here's the plan we recommend to students who come to us with a firm deadline.

Days 1-3: Diagnose

Take one full timed mock exam. Don't study anything before this — you need an honest baseline. Score it properly and separate your mistakes into "didn't know the method" versus "knew the method, ran out of time or made a slip."

Days 4-18: Topic-by-topic rebuilding

Spend roughly two weeks working through your weakest topics using focused drill sets rather than full mock exams. Algebraic manipulation and functions first, since almost every later topic depends on them; then exponents/logarithms, differentiation, integration, and probability.

Days 19-24: Timed topic drills

Repeat the same topics, but now under a visible clock and without notes. This is where accuracy under pressure — the actual skill being tested — gets built.

Days 25-27: Second full mock exam

A complete, timed run under real conditions. Compare your score and your time-per-question directly against your day-1 diagnostic to see exactly how far you've come, and where the last gaps are.

Days 28-30: Light review only

Resist the urge to cram new material this close to the exam. Review your mistake log from the two mock exams, skim formulas, and rest properly the night before.
