OMPT-G syllabus: what topics are covered

OMPT-G covers linear formulas and equations, systems of linear equations, quadratic equations, functions, exponential functions and logarithms, sequences and series, trigonometry, geometry (across two chapters), physics (mechanics), and chemistry. How difficult is OMPT-G?

OMPT-G is unique among the seven variants for requiring physics and chemistry knowledge alongside math — this means students who are strong in algebra and trigonometry but haven't touched mechanics or chemistry since high school often need to rebuild that content from scratch. Expect 100–120 hours of preparation, with the physics and chemistry chapters typically requiring proportionally more review time than the math chapters, simply because they're less likely to be fresh.

*A ball is thrown upward with an initial velocity of 20 m/s. How long until it returns to the same height (g = 9.8 m/s²)?*

Time to peak = v/g = 20/9.8 ≈ 2.04 s. Total time up and down = 2 × 2.04 ≈ 4.08 s.

A chemistry-style question: *Balance the equation: C₃H₈ + O₂ → CO₂ + H₂O.* Balanced: C₃H₈ + 5O₂ → 3CO₂ + 4H₂O.

What do the real OMPT-G exam questions look like?

Expect a genuine three-way mix: standard algebra/trigonometry/geometry questions in the same style as the other OMPT variants, plus mechanics questions (projectile motion, forces, kinematics) and chemistry questions (balancing equations, stoichiometry basics) that don't appear anywhere else in the OMPT family.

Is there an OMPT-G exam PDF?

No official exam PDF is published. Because OMPT-G spans three distinct subject areas, a full mock exam that covers math, physics, and chemistry together — rather than studying each in isolation — is the most realistic way to prepare.
